Fake Friends (and Christmas)

... This bullcrap again?

Then again, memes go through DA every now and then like the flu.

Either way, I've said my piece on this thing years ago, but it bears repeating: I think it's a crock.

Besides, friendships are the kinda things that you just know are there. There's no real way to describe how you know, you just... do. There's people here I've only known for maybe 2 months and I consider them to be a friend. And so on and so forth. And I have good friends who don't always comment or favorite my art, but that's okay. I'm kinda the same way sometimes. But that doesn't change anything, they're still my friends no matter what.

I dunno. This subject makes me very cranky and I just want to say that the meme is crap and I love you all.

Anyhow, Merry Christmas (to those who celebrate it)! I'm working today, then going to a Christmas party after work (weather permitting) and then tomorrow, I'm going up to a local religious community with *digistardbz for church and lunch. Finally, I'm actually doing something on Christmas Day! Heh.

Please be safe when traveling out there -if you have to do any traveling- and most of all, have a wonderful and blessed holiday. Mwah! <3

Where can I improve?

Although I don't normally ask for critiques (or at least, specify them in my deviations), I do enjoy getting a few pointers here and there on my art -be it the figures or coloring- as it helps keep me fresh. And considering I've yet to take ANY actual drawing classes this semester (damn the stupid general education credits), I'll take all the advice I can get.

So I'm asking you, my DevWatchers, to point out general things I should keep in mind for future drawings or whatever needs work.

I'd greatly appreciate it, because many of these things go unnoticed by me. Ha ha.

9 pages and counting

Well, this is a milestone for me. 9 pages into "Praeda" and it's still going. Considering the last fan comic I attempted stopped at about 7 pages (though like I said before, that was due to illness at the time), this is an accomplishment. Of sorts.

It's hard balancing compressed storytelling (i.e. things move at a quick pace) vs. decompressed storytelling (i.e. things move at a slower pace).

But I think, if anything, it's a good warm-up for my original comic I'd like to start sometime in 2010.

So yeah, it'll be interesting to see where this ultimately leads.

LMAO, oh Nostalgia Critic!

Even though I've long since dropped out of and want nothing to do with the He-Man/She-Ra fandom anymore, this was HILARIOUS. I can only imagine some of the people I used to know taking this seriously and getting their pants in a knot.

Dick-o-copter... LMAOOOOOOO.

Also, the "warning" at the end was priceless. GOOD LUCK, DOUG BECAUSE I'M STILL TRYING TO BLEACH THAT OUT OF MY HEAD!

Not-so-FAQ

Will you watch me?
I only really watch my friends (who I've known for a long time) on DA and a very small handful of non-friends (professionals I like, people who generally interest me), just because I'm really bad at commenting and keeping up with everyone's work. Please don't take it personal.

Do you do requests/art trades?
Sadly, no. On occasion I will open them up, but I largely do them based upon suggestion. Otherwise, I have way too many things I need to finish.

Trades I will do, but sadly I have prior obligations I need to do before I can accept them again in good conscience.

Where are your original characters, you hack?
I actually draw my OCs more than anything. However, because they are my brain children, I only like to post pictures that I feel are worthy to post of them.

How do you do X/Y/Z?
My methods vary from picture to picture, so if you see something in one of my drawings and are curious as to how it was done, ASK! I swear, my bark is worse than my bite.

But to answer some general questions: I use pencil/scanner/Photoshop (sometimes traditional media, like watercolors or markers) and I do on occasion use stock photo reference (it's not a bad thing, trust me!). My preferred programs are Photoshop and Sai Paint Tool; and my favored trad. medias are Prismacolor markers and any professional watercolor.

Why do you hate Ahsoka/Thane/Starkiller/Rick Wheeler/Cyclops/ect. so much?
Because they're annoying and I like to banish them to the Cornfield.

But I don't like chicken. I like eggs! And why are you so mean?
